Let’s talk about why dads are awesome! We all know the amazing power of mums, they’re great but often dads get left out of the spotlight. Here’s the thing though, dads are awesome too, and play a huge role in raising happy, healthy and successful kids.
Think of your child’s development a bit like being at the beach building a sandcastle. Mum brings bucket and shovels, the important stuff you need to build your sandcastle, but dad? He’s typically the one showing his kids how to dig a moat, or building a tower so great that it’ll make their friends jealous.
I’m going to discuss in more detail how integral dads are in the development of their children.
Dads can often be great emotional superheroes. Their love and support can give kids the confidence to tackle anything, from worrying about exams to engaging in new activities. Plus, dads can be silly and can find humour in things giving dad the super power of making kids laugh which every kid needs.
Playtime with dad might involve building Lego or play fighting on the sofa, but those are actually brain-building activities in disguise. Dads can help kids to solve problems, think creatively and learn new things – all while having fun.
Kids learn how to interact with others by watching the grown-ups around them. That’s why it’s important for dads to show kindness, respect and good communication skills to become role models for their children, helping them navigate the sometimes tricky social word.
Often dads are the champions of fun activities like bike rides and football matches. These kind of activities create lasting memories, but also teach kids the importance of exercise and healthy living.
So there you have it! Dads are pretty essential. From helping build confidence to teaching new skills, dads definitely play a unique role in shaping their child’s development. I guess ultimately being there and always showing support and understanding goes a long way to being an awesome dad.
